Fall 2003 Meeting Highlights
October
2 and 3, 2003
Rocky Harbour, Newfoundland
|
| Strategic
Planning |
CCIR
dedicated a significant portion of the agenda to the
discussion of a new Strategic Plan for 2004-2006. Members
decided on initiatives that would address identified
challenges facing consumers, industry and regulators.
There was a commitment to
work with stakeholders to address each of the following
three strategic priorities over the next three years:
- Facilitate the development
and implementation of harmonized regulation while
recognizing local autonomy.
- Work towards achieving a
reduction in unnecessary regulatory burden.
- Actively collaborate with
financial services regulators and other stakeholders to
keep pace with changes in the financial marketplace.
The CCIR Strategic Plan for
2004-6 will be finalized and available on the CCIR website
before the end of the year. Work on new initiatives will
begin shortly afterwards.

recommended in the review, the LLQP Exam pass rate will be
60% in all jurisdictions as of November 1, 2003. General
information pertaining to the LLQP is available on the CCIR
